Shooting course (rifle training)
This shooting course is designed for persons who will use weapons as a means of self-defense against polar bears and other potentially dangerous animals, in connection with scientific fieldwork in Greenland.
The course consists of two parts; theory and practical. Both parts of the course are compulsory for certification.
The theory session has a focus on the safe handling and familiarity with a rifle, as well as introducing good weapon routines (dry training) Operational functions are trained with recognizable click cartridges and a review of the use of a signal gun as a deterrent is included.
The practical shooting training focuses mainly on pulse and stress training, using live ammunition at a firing range. If possible, the use of the signal gun will be tested, otherwise only the use of a rifle is trained.
Course certificates are issued upon completion of the course.
